Getting
Your UBIT Name
To have your UBIT name
created, you will first need to register for a course.
Since most registration is done online, and you can
not access the online system without a username, you
will need to register through our phone based system
called BIRD. For information regarding BIRD, please
go to the following URL:
http://src.buffalo.edu/bird/index.shtml
Twenty four hours after registering
for a course, your UBIT name will be created automatically.
To locate your UBIT name, please go to our directory
listing and find the default e-mail address that is
created for you. The first portion of the e-mail address
before the @ symbol is your UBIT name. The URL for
the directory listing can be found here:
http://www.buffalo.edu/directory
Your default password should
follow this algorithm:
first four (4) digits of your
birthday
followed by the last six (6) digits of the UBCARD
number.
The UBCARD number is the number
below your photo on your UBCARD NOT your person number.
Let's, for example, say the UBCARD number is: 0000
0000 0012 3456 And let's say your birthday is: January
19, 1980
So the password would be: 0119123456
