Currently, there are enough open seats for all potential registrants. When demand is high, we do maintain a waiting list in 708 Clemens to match students with courses. This waiting list is only for students with scheduling conflicts. Students may not be placed on the waiting list if there are open seats that will fit their schedule.

We fill seats in the order that you sign up, however graduating seniors are given priority placement. As always, the General Education Office staff is available to assist and explain the process.

Being placed on the waiting list does not necessarily guarantee placement in your desired class. .

Here are some notes concerning the waiting list:

  1. The more potential class sections, with recitations that fit your schedule, you list, the better your chances of being registered.
  2. Graduating seniors are given first priority for registration.
  3. The General Education office cannot override student checkstops, registration credit hour limits for students or student billing issues. Please be sure to clear up any of these issues -- or you may not be registered.
  4. Waiting list requests cannot be submitted online or over the phone. Please stop by the office.
  5. If you manage to register for an open class, or change your mind, after being placed on our waiting list, please contact us so that you may be removed.
  6. You will be contacted if and when you are placed in a class.
  7. CONFIRMING REGISTRATION: If we place you in a class, you will be contacted by this office. You must confirm your registration with this office to remain in the course. Failure to do so, will mean an automatic "drop."

Information We Will Need
If you are planning on requesting placement on the waiting list, please be sure to have the following information ready:

  • Your Student Number (Social Security number can be used, but is not preferred)
  • The course SECTION LETTERS you wish to be registered in, not the registration numbers please.
  • Telephone and e-mail contact information. These must be where you can be reached over summer or the semester break (depending on which semester you are registering for).
  • You are advised to activate your university email account as soon as possible and, if you do not access that account regularly, to have your university email forwarded to the account you do use. To have your university mail forwarded to the account you are currently using, visit the Computing and Information Technology email page.
NOTICE: for the current class offering list see our "Courses Offered" section.
